What is
253MA pipe
A 253MA pipe is made from a high-performance,lean austenitic stainless steel (UNS S30815) known for its exceptional resistance to high temperatures (up to 2000°F/1093°C),oxidation and creep,thanks to its unique composition of chromium,nitrogen,silicon and rare earth elements like cerium,offering superior strength and durability in extreme environments like furnaces,heat exchangers and industrial burners,often outperforming standard 310 stainless steel.

Composition
It is a chromium-nickel alloy (roughly 21% Cr,11% Ni) enhanced with nitrogen for strength and rare earth metals (primarily Cerium) and silicon for a stable protective oxide layer.
Oxidation Stability
The addition of rare earth elements improves the adhesion and elasticity of the oxide scale,making it particularly effective in cyclic oxidation conditions where temperature fluctuates.
Superior Strength
It provides roughly double the creep-rupture strength of standard Grade 310 or 309 stainless steel at temperatures above 871°C (1600°F).
Temperature Resistance
Effectively withstands operating temperatures up to 1150°C (2100°F).
