Does the composition meet NACE MR0175?
Yes.The chemical balance of UNS N08825 is recognized by NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 for use in “sour” oilfield environments containing H2S provided the material is in the appropriate annealed condition.

What is the elastic modulus of this pipe material?
At room temperature, its elastic modulus is approximately 195 GPa.This is comparable to that of stainless steel, meaning that under the same pressure, its elastic deformation characteristics are similar to those of high-performance stainless steel.
How does it perform in extremely low-temperature (cryogenic) environments?
It performs exceptionally well.Due to its austenitic microstructure,Incoloy 825 retains good toughness and ductility even at low and cryogenic temperatures, without undergoing a significant embrittlement transition as seen in carbon steel.

Manufacturing Process for Seamless incoloy 825 pipe
The manufacturing process for seamless Incoloy 825 pipes combines high-temperature hot working with precision cold working to ensure structural integrity and exceptional corrosion resistance.
Billet Preparation
The steel is melted using vacuum induction melting (VIM) or an electric arc furnace (EAF),typically followed by electroslag remelting (ESR) to ensure extremely high chemical purity. The qualified alloy round bars are then cut into billets of specific lengths.
Hot Extrusion or Piercing
Heating:
Heat the billet to the hot working temperature range (approximately 1180°C/2150°F).
Forming:
Extrusion:
The heated billet is forced through a die and mandrel using an extruder to form a tubular shape directly. This is the most common method for manufacturing nickel-based alloys and ensures uniform wall thickness.
Oblique Rolling And Piercing:
The billet is rotated and pushed toward a piercing punch to form a hole in the center.
Cold Working
To achieve the final precise dimensions and a better surface finish, pipes that have undergone hot working require further cold working.
Cold Drawing:
Pulling the tube through progressively smaller dies.
Cold Rolling:
Compressing the tube using rotating roll dies.
The purpose is to improve dimensional accuracy (such as wall thickness tolerances) and enhance mechanical properties.
Heat Treatment
The purpose of stabilizing annealing is to relieve internal stresses caused by cold working and to use the titanium in the alloy to fix carbon, thereby preventing intergranular corrosion. It is typically performed at around 940°C (1725°F).
Cleaning & Pickling
First,remove the machining lubricant.
Then, use a mixture of nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid to remove the scale formed during heat treatment, thereby returning the surface to a passivated state to prevent rust.
Quality Control
Each seamless pipe must pass the following tests before leaving the factory:
Non-destructive testing (NDT):
Includes ultrasonic testing (UT) or eddy current testing (ET) to detect internal defects.
Hydrostatic Test:
Ensures that the pipe does not leak under high pressure.
Dimensional Inspection:
Verifies diameter,wall thickness,and roundness.
Why is it particularly effective against sulfuric acid?
This is due to the addition of 1.5%–3.0% copper (Cu) to the alloy.Copper significantly improves the material’s stability in sulfuric acid environments at various concentrations and temperatures.
Is 825 pipe easy to weld?
It welds very well. 825 is a stabilized alloy containing titanium, which prevents intergranular corrosion in the heat-affected zone during welding.ERNiFeCr-1 welding wire is typically used for this application.
