Manufacturing Process for Hastelloy c276 capillary tube

Manufacturing Hastelloy C276 capillary tubes involves extensive cold working (drawing/rolling) of mother tubes,followed by precise cleaning,heat treatment (annealing & quenching),straightening,cutting,and rigorous inspection,with options for seamless (ASTM B622) or welded (ASTM B626) methods,aiming for tight tolerances and excellent corrosion resistance for high-precision applications.The process focuses on maintaining material integrity and surface finish through steps like electropolishing or bright annealing. 

Material Preparation

Start with C276 strip or mother tube (seamless or welded).
Chemical cleaning,degreasing,and end preparation.

Cold Working

Cold Drawing/Rolling:
Repeated passes through dies or rollers to reduce diameter and wall thickness,increasing strength.
Intermediate Annealing:
Heat treatment (around 1150-1175°C) followed by rapid water quenching to restore ductility and corrosion resistance after cold working.

Processing & Finishing

Cleaning:
Thorough cleaning (acid pickling/chemical cleaning) to remove contaminants.
Straightening:
Machines to ensure straightness.
Surface Treatment:
Mechanical Polishing (MP),Electropolishing (EP),or Bright Annealing (BA) for superior internal/external finish.
Purging:
Inert gas (Nitrogen) purging to keep internal surfaces clean.
Cutting & Marking:
Precision cutting to length, then marking for identification.

Quality Control & Testing

Eddy Current Testing (ECT):
Detects surface/subsurface flaws.
Hydrostatic Testing:
Checks for leaks under pressure.
