Hastelloy C276 coiled tubing is formed by welding,continuous cold drawing,and coiling Hastelloy C276 steel strip into continuous small-diameter Hastelloy C276 tubing.Due to its continuous nature,we employ a bright annealing process to prevent scale formation inside the tubing.We also offer Hastelloy C276 seamless coils and Hastelloy C276 welded coils for your selection.Please note that due to process differences,Hastelloy C-276 seamless coils of the same size will be shorter than Hastelloy C-276 welded coils. Manufacturing Process for Hastelloy C276 Coil Tube

Manufacturing Hastelloy C276 coil tubing involves starting with raw material,forming it into tubes (seamless or welded),and then processing through cold drawing/rolling and heat treatments (annealing) to achieve the final coiled form,optimizing for properties like ductility and strength,using methods like GTAW/TIG welding for welded tubes,and strict quality control with annealing at ~2050-2150°F (1121-1177°C) for best corrosion resistance. 

Raw Material & Initial Forming

Start with high-quality Hastelloy C276 (Ni-Cr-Mo alloy).
For seamless tubes:
A solid billet is pierced and extruded,then drawn.
For welded tubes:
Hot-rolled coils are slit,uncoiled,and edges are welded (often using ERW or TIG) to form a continuous strip,then sized.

Cold Working

Tubes are passed through dies or rollers at room temperature to reduce diameter and wall thickness,increasing strength and improving surface finish.This process makes the alloy harder,requiring intermediate annealing.

Annealing (Heat Treatment)

A crucial step to restore ductility and relieve stresses from cold working,often performed at 2050-2150°F (1121-1177°C) for C276.Followed by rapid cooling (water quench or air cool) for optimal corrosion resistance.

Coiling & Finishing

The finished tube is then wound into coils using specialized coiling machines.Further processing like precision redrawing,cutting to length,and bending (U-bending) may occur.
